Foreword The Oriental Research Institute, University of Mysore is well known in the entire world for its preservation and publication of rare Sanskrit works written on palm-leaf and paper manuscripts. This 125 year old prestigious institute has published so far about 206 works and the present work 'Praudhabhiramam' bears the serial number 207 among the publications of the institute under 'Oriental Research Institute Series'. Dr K.V.Ramapriya, Research Assistant, Grade-I, of the institute has edited the text of this unpublished allegorical play 'Praudhabhiramam' written by the poet Srinivasacharya. The editor has brought out the text with essential footnotes and also provides a brief introduction in chaste Sanskrit and Kannada languages. For this purpose he has studied and collated two manuscripts, bearing the numbers P.1178/1 and P.1212 preserved in the Oriental Research Institute.
