Book Description
Preface

A distinguished writer of several books on general psychology, educational psychology, and social philosophy, Dr Pritibhushan Chatterji is Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Calcutta. He has contributed many articles on philosophical and psychological topics to several journals and magazines. He was also President of the Psychological section of the Indian Philosophical Congress in the year 1966. Dr Chatterji is the Joint Editor of Darshan, an organ of Bangiya Darshan Parishad.

Though comparison of different religions is not anything new, Comparative Religion as a distinct subject of study has evoked more and more interest in recent times. Dr Chatterji in his three lectures has tried to answer the following three questions: What exactly does Comparative Religion discuss and aim at? What is its method? What are its data? He presents the case of religion as such from a comparative standpoint. He believes that religions, in spite of their differences, have an underlying unity of their own. He tries to show that meeting of religions is possible.
